My native language "Uyghur"

Language is a development of a country and it is a basic means of survival. Also it is an indispensable weapon to save a nation from lost.

In fact there is no nation which does not have its own language. For example Russians speak Russian. Norwegians speak Norwegian etc.

For Uyghur (East Turkistan people) Uyghur language is a weapon for the sake of confirmation that they still exist in the world. But with the development of the world, we do not appreciate more and more our Uyghur language.

The Communist Party of China has made bi-lingual education compulsory in East Turkistan . From a young age our children begin to speak and to apply Chinese language in their daily life having no other choice. That leads to such problems like prefering to speak Chinese rather speaking their own native language. They begin to think that the use of own language is no more important and useful. That is just one of the consequenses of what the Chinese have done to Uyghur youth. Actually, the main aim of Chinese government is to annihilate Uyghurs.

Comming to our Uyghur children who are growing up in foreign countries have problem with learning their native language. Simple reason is they can not practice it or they have little chance to learn and use their own language.

Parents do not always do their duty in encouraging and teaching them their native language instead of letting children study and use a foreign language forgetting own. These are some of the many examples why do uyghur youth forget their own, Uyghur, language. They forget who are they themselves? being a lost nation.


Some parents find some pretext or other excuses to hide their language. Such as 'no way., what can I do? I'm getting used to , they cannot help but admit that speaking foreign language becomes habit. Unfortunately we are not trying our best to learn to keep and to save our language.

Uyghur language is a vital part of the national constitution and it is a symbol of independence. In order to preserve this gem, we must give up these bad habits. Everyone have to think that their native language is the most important issue. Be proud and use your own language (Uyghur). Do not add any foreign words into our language, especially Chinese. Also this is a good way to demonstrate that we still exist and will survive as the Uyghur nation. Only under these conditions we will be able to introduce our culture, existence of our forgotten nation to the world.

Now its time to wake up. My Uyghur ....



We are not up against any foreign language, it’s just our way to be strong against strong power. My Uyghur friend learn your language do not betray our nation forgeting your own language which is more frightening than an invasion of aliens.
